Kluber, Bauer, Greinke could be dangled

LAS VEGAS

Corey Kluber, Trevor Bauer, Zack Greinke and Madison Bumgarner appear to be available for teams looking to bolster starting rotations.

Bryce Harper and Manny Machado, the two top free agents, remain unsigned heading into the traditional high-point of the offseason.

Catcher J.T. Realmuto and third baseman Kyle Seager could be among the position players dangled as trade bait in the suites of Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay, where executives and agents gather this week for the annual swap session, which in an age of complicated finances and medical records serves as a midpoint for talks as much as a place to finish deals.

Chicago Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein predicted the week will be “really active.”

“It seems like there is plenty of trade talk, and there are still a lot of good free agents out there,” he said.

Japanese skater wins women’s title

VANCOUVER, British Columbia

Teenage Japanese star Rika Kihira won the Grand Prix Final women’s title Saturday.

The 16-year-old had a combined score of 233.12, despite stumbling on a jump in her free skate. The score topped her career best of 224.31 set last month in Japan in her NHK Trophy victory.

Olympic champion Alina Zagitova of Russia, also 16, was second at 226.53 points.

Fellow Russian Elizaveta Tuktamysheva was third at 215.32.

The women’s competition was made up entirely of skaters from Japan and Russia.

Americans Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue won the ice dance, finishing with 205.35 points. Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov of Russia were second at 201.37, and Italy’s Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri followed at 198.65.

On Friday night, American Nathan Chen won the men’s event.

Beckham won’t play against Washington

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been ruled out for today’s game against the Redskins with a quadriceps injury. He did not travel to Washington with the team.

Beckham appeared on the team’s injury report Friday with a bruised quadricep and practiced on a limited basis. He was downgraded to out on Saturday.

Beckham threw one touchdown pass and caught another last week in the Giants’ 30-27 overtime victory over the Chicago Bears.

The Giants have won three of their past four games to get to 4-8. The Redskins are 6-6.

USA women grouped with Sweden again

PARIS

U.S. national coach Jill Ellis was asked before the Women’s World Cup draw whether she thought her team would be grouped with Sweden for the fifth straight time.

“Oh, we will,” Ellis laughed, recalling her reply. She was right.

The defending champion Americans were grouped — again — with Sweden for next summer’s showcase tournament in France. The draw to set the group stage for the 24 teams was held Saturday at a gala event in Paris amid a backdrop of unrest in the country.
