Two Austintown Fitch High School student athletes signed letters of intent.

Senior basketball player Sabrina Hunter signed her letter to attend West Point Military Academy on Nov. 20.

Ken Misik, a senior baseball player, also signed his letter of intent to Youngstown State University on Nov. 27.

Austintown Community Engagement Specialist Brittany Bueno said that both athletes were sought by multiple colleges.

“They are good students, star athletes, and generally good people,” Bueno said.

Bueno said that Hunter had more than a dozen division one scholarship offers and chose West Point after a visit there with her family.

Representative Tim Ryan, who is Hunter’s political sponsor, attended the event along with Senator Joe Schiavoni and a number military personnel.

Misik signed his letter during a ceremony at Austintown’s Rich Coppola Baseball Field.

Both students will attend their college of choice in fall 2019.
