East Lansing, Mich.

Michigan State and former Hubbard running back LJ Scott has declared for the NFL Draft. He announced the decision via a statement on Twitter.

He planned to use a medical redshirt, intending to return in 2019 for his final season.

Scott said in the statement, “Especially considering the position that I play, I truly feel in my heart that after four seasons at MSU, the time is right for me to turn pro. I will continue to get healthy, finish the season playing in the RedBox Bowl with my teammates, and then pursue my dream of playing in the NFL.”

In 42 games, Scott rushed for 2,771 yards and 25 touchdowns on 586 carries. He was Third-Team All-Big Ten in 2016 and received honorable mention in 2017.
