Program seeks volunteers

The Guardian Angels of Trumbull County, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. The trained angel volunteers reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors. The next meeting will be at 5 p.m. Sept. 4 at Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 North River Road. MVYP plans walk

CANFIELD

Members of the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals (MVYP) are asking community residents to join them in helping the Animal Charity Humane Society by walking some 40 dogs who ACHS officials say would enjoy a walk Tuesday between 5:30 and 8 p.m.

Volunteers will meet at Animal Charity, 525 W. Main St. They are urged to dress for the weather in comfortable clothing and to not wear flip-flops or sandals.

Library to host ‘Go Wild in the Park’

Salem Public Library will host its “Go Wild in the Park” program at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at Waterworth Memorial Park, Pavilion 9, off E. Eighth St. Emily Ellsworth from Pure Pet Store, will discuss the difference between frogs and toads.
