Greater Friendship Baptist Church, 646 Lakewood Ave., is inviting anyone who has ever been a member to celebrate its Family and Friends Day “Homecoming Celebration,” during a service that will take place at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Keynote speaker will be the Rev. Michael D. Small, former pastor of Greater Friendship Baptist Church and current pastor of Mount Haven Baptist Church in Cleveland. Proceeds benefit the Rev. B.J. Myers Scholarship Fund founded by Rev. Small. For information, call 330-743-5084.

National conference

YOUNGSTOWN

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, will host the “Divine Will” National Conference featuring Father Elijah John Joseph of Our Lady of Guadalupe today. The cost of the conference is $30 and includes four talks, a lunch, light breakfast and snacks.

Choir concert

St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave., will host a concert at 7 p.m. today featuring Les Moineaux, from Paris. Les Moineaux choir members range from 10 to 18 years old and are conducted by Francois Olivier, who is also the Titular of the Choir Organ at the prestigious church St. Eustache in the French capital city. Antioch Baptist Church, 110 Funston St., and Rev. Ernest Ellis will host a Welcome Home Celebration musical Praising the Beauty of Holiness at 3 p.m. today.

The event will feature various guest psalmists, choirs, male choruses and musicians from near and far as they praise God in honor of Minister Reggie Smith. The public is invited.

Join in Youth Mass

Catholic teens are invited to join in prayer and celebration at Diocese of Youngstown 75th Anniversary Youth Mass taking place Sunday at St. Rose Parish, 48 E. Main St. Mass begins at 5:30 p.m. with a procession of parish representatives. Youth of the parishes in the counties of Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull are invited to participate in this event.

Meditation at center

LIBERTY

The Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, will host a “Crystal Singing Bowl Meditation” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 4. The program will be conducted by Maria and Calvin Wagner from the Center for Sound Therapy in Boardman. The event is the next installment of the Centre’s “Path to Wholeness” series.
