TNP to host celebration

WARREN

Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership will host a celebration of art and culture in the community that will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Quinby Park. This free, family-friendly event is part of Arts Across America, a daylong initiative in partnership with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Aspen Institutes Social Fabric Initiative and community organizations.

The Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County will host live performances from Monument of Faith Angels, Olivia Dunn, T.C.I.M.A. Community Choir and Men with Skills. The Trumbull County Historical Society will be on hand to collect oral histories from those with memories of Quinby Park. Attendees will have the opportunity to create art, enter raffle drawings and mores. Arts Across America will continue at 5:30 p.m. at the Warren Community Amphitheatre with local performers followed by a free performance by acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma accompanied by the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra and the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.

Newton Falls library to host teen event

NEWTON FALLS

Teenagers, age 14 to 18, are invited to express themselves through string at the Newton Falls Public Library, 204 S. Canal St., at 5 p.m. Monday. Decorate CDs, weave a hula hoop, make string jewelry and more. Registration is required.

Society to host summer picnic

SALEM

Salem Historical Society’s annual summer picnic will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dale Shaffer Meeting Room, 239 South Lundy Ave. Anyone of Romanian heritage is invited to attend. Table service and beverages will be provided. Those attending are asked to take a favorite covered dish. Following dinner there will be an audio presentation by Rosemarie Sulea Cardoso on Romanian heritage. There also will be an opportunity to visit the Romanian exhibit in the Schell Building.

School to celebrate 50th anniversary

CANFIELD

The South Range Local School District will celebrate its 50th anniversary during the 2018-19 school year. To start the celebration, each home football game will honor a decade of graduates. Arms Museum to host Fun with History

The Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave., will host a Fun with History program from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. Local church to host Romanian Food Fest

Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church, 626 Wick Ave., will host its Romanian Food Festival from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 25. There will be Romanian foods, drinks and music. Tours of the church will take place at 11 a.m. , 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The festival is free to attend.
