FUNDRAISERS
Butterflies and Hope Memorial Foundation will host a kick-off event to launch their virtual mountain climb fundraiser at 11 a.m. next Monday at the Youngstown Community Health Center (ONE Health Ohio), 726 Wick Ave, Youngstown. Parking will be at the Ursuline lot across the street. The event will include a ceremonial butterfly release to honor the foundation, a one-mile walk to kick off the virtual mountain climb, a performance from the Harambee Youth Group, food, music and more. The goal is for each climber to walk 50,000 steps over a five-day period to virtually summit the mountain. As participants reach milestones along their climb, they will get to see pictures and videos of the mountain at that particular elevation. Participants will track their steps through a wearable device (Fitbit, Garmin, etc.) or cellphone and manually enter them into a virtual platform. To register for and/or access the virtual climb, visit www.butterfliesandhope.org. Each participant will be asked to pay a $5 minimum registration donation.
