Man in concrete mixer truck leads police in chase
GILLETTE, Wyo.
Wyoming police say a man twice led them in a chase – once in a pickup truck and then in a concrete mixer truck.
Gillette Police Lt. Brent Wasson says the incident began about 11:15 p.m. July 18 when police tried to stop a pickup truck on the Interstate 90 on-ramp. The Gillette News Record reports the driver fled, reaching speeds up to 100 mph on I-90 and forcing police to stop chasing him.
However, the pickup later crashed into a ditch in a field, and the driver ran off into a nearby construction business, where he commandeered the concrete mixer. Wasson says at some point the truck’s brakes locked and caught fire, disabling the truck.
Wasson says a 32-year-old man was taken into custody.
Woman has baby in Chick-fil-A bathroom
SAN ANTONIO, Texas
A baby girl is guaranteed food for life – and a job – after her mother recently gave birth in a Chick-fil-A bathroom.
Falon Griffin was having contractions when she and her husband stopped at the fast-food restaurant in San Antonio to drop off their daughters with a family friend. She had to use the bathroom, but the restaurant was closed.
The couple banged on the door. Store director Brenda Enriquez tells KSAT-TV she opened the door and Griffin was screaming. Enriquez grabbed some towels. Husband Robert Griffin says he managed to unwrap the umbilical cord from the baby’s neck and deliver Gracelyn Griffin.
Mom and baby are doing fine. The company says Gracelyn will have free Chick-fil-A for life and a job when she turns 14.
