Asia-Pacific beats Canfield-Poland 1-0

The Canfield-Poland junior softball team lost its first game of the Junior Softball World Series on Wednesday.
Bacolod City West of the Philippines beat Canfield-Poland 1-0 thanks to Mea Tubongbanua’s RBI in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Glecilyn Alipato shut down the Canfield-Poland offense. She struck out 10 and allowed four hits in a complete game.
Mia Opalick and Alaina Scavina allowed a combined one run on four hits. Opalick struck out one in 41/3 innings.
Layni Bednar, Meredith Trevis, Paige Ogden and Opalick each had one hit each for Canfield-Poland.
Canfield-Poland (3-1) will play Southwest today at 5 p.m.
