SENIOR CITIZENS


Freetimers will host its monthly breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson’s Restaurant in Cornersburg. All Youngstown State University retirees are invited to eat and socialize.

Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet at noon Friday at Lowellville City Hall conference room, 140 E. Liberty St. Brenda Perry, president, will preside. Lunch will be provided. To make reservations, call Janet Davanzo at 330-793-3176. New members are welcome. Anyone interested does not have to be a Lowellville resident to join. Illnesses or deaths among members should be reported to Norma Higgins, sunshine chairwoman, at 330-953-3090. Birthdays and anniversaries for May will be acknowledged. A 50-50 raffle and bingo will follow the business meeting.

Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet at 11 a.m. May 9 at Drake’s Landing Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Social hour will begin at 11, and lunch will take place at 11:45, followed by a meeting and program. Susan Harris will preside. The program will include the annual “In-Memoriam” by Sally Winsen, “In-Remembrance” by Martha Lopez and the recognition of all 90-year and older members. Eric Barrett, OSU Extension agent, will discuss horticulture. The community service collection will benefit the “Mission of Love” project. Menu includes grilled chicken or the buffet lunch, which will include herb-baked chicken, pasta, redskin potatoes, broccoli, tossed salad, rolls and dessert. All area educators are invited to attend. TMH Retirees Club will host a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. May 14 at the Buena Vista Cafe in Warren. This month’s speaker will be Laurie Barber, CNO of Trumbull Regional Medical Center. Nominations and election of officers also will take place. Members are reminded to return the Bella Bears that were distributed at the last meeting.
