YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Music Teachers Association will present a spring recital at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Butler North, 524 Wick Ave. Students performing include Gabriella Smallwood, Grace Min, Madelyn Miller, William Boyd, Morgan Golden, Lana Tonkinson, Lydia Noble, Anna Joy, George Pilatos, Nathan Hodge, Jonathan Jackson, Rita Domitrovich, Jacilyn Wilk, Meredith Lea, Jessica Wilk, Kate Li, Andrew Theophonous, and Armand Giovannone. Teachers represented include Rick Barber, Thomas Miller, Kathryn Dick, Joan Sutton, Gina Bagnoli, Laura Kunkel, Nancy McNeal, Alison Morris, Elsie Barba, Cynthia Evans, Diane Yazvac, and Fanny DiDomenico. The recital is free and open to the puplic.

Kindergartners invited to fair

STRUTHERS

Struthers Elementary School will host its third Roaring into Kindergarten Fair from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for incoming kindergartners and their parents. This fair is designed to help new students with their transition into kindergarten. Students will be able to meet the principals, take a tour of the classrooms, have a story read to them, ride on the school bus and more. The event also will include typical kindergarten activities as well as physical activities and a raffle to win prizes donated by the United Way.

Strimbu Foundation planning barbecue

BROOKFIELD

The 29th Annual Strimbu BBQ will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Yankee Lake Ballroom, 1800 state Route 7 NE. The event is sponsored by First National Bank as part of a fundraising effort for the Strimbu Memorial Fund.

The fund was created to award scholarships of $2,000 each to seniors in 12 local school districts, with an additional student winning a $10,000 college scholarship.

Library to host movie

LISBON

Lepper Library, 303 E. Lincoln Way, will show a movie starring Ray Milland and Grace Kelly at 2 p.m. Monday. This month’s movie is a 1954 film about an ex-tennis pro who carries out a plot to murder his wife and improvises a brilliant plan B when things go wrong.
