WYSU-FM to air local radio plays

YOUNGSTOWN

The Good Humor Radio Hour, a program of radio plays originally performed live April 11 at the Tyler History Center, will be rebroadcast on WYSU-88.5 FM at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The show, produced by Youngstown State University, featured live actors on old-time radio microphones, with sound effects and music.

The Good Humor Radio Players is an audio theater production and performance company comprising actors, Foley artists, sound engineers and musicians, from the Mahoning Valley.

Opera singer master class

ALLIANCE

Eduardo Valdes, a tenor opera singer and a 1983 graduate of University of Mount Union, will present a voice master class May 11 for selected students.

Valdes is in his 25th consecutive season at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and has completed 645 performances in 34 productions. His performances have taken him all over the world.

He also maintains a private vocal studio in New York, where he teaches the bel canto technique.

The masterclass will take place in Presser Recital Hall in the Giese Center for Performing Arts.
