Search warrant turns up drugs at North Side house

YOUNGSTOWN — Police on Tuesday serving a search warrant about 5:10 p.m. investigating alleged drug activity at 74 Thornton Ave. found eight large bags of suspected marijuana, two smaller bags of suspected marijuana, suspected crack cocaine and three guns.

The guns were a Ruger 5.56mm semi-automatic rifle, a .45-caliber handgun and a .22-caliber rifle.

Arrested on drug and weapons charges was the North Side homeowner, Ricky Lee Carter, 27.
