Man accused of flipping out on city police, jail staff

Reports said a Boardman man being booked into the Mahoning County jail early today tried to bite a police officer's arm twice.

It took four corrections officers and two police officers to get Michael Favors, 42, into the jail, reports said. Favors threatened an officer by saying, "You made an enemy for life," and "Golden Gloves champion here, I'll see you on the streets," the incident report states.

Favors was arrested about 6 a.m. at Edwards Avenue and Cleveland Street after he was spotted in a car with a woman. Reports said the two matched the description of suspects in a robbery.

When he was questioned, police found food stamp cards on him that did not belong to him, so he was taken to the jail on a charge of illegal possession of food stamps.

He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in municipal court
