Dr. James takes oath Wednesday as interim Trumbull coroner

Judge W. Wyatt McKay of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court will administer the oath of office to Dr. Thomas James of Vienna at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday as interim county coroner.

The ceremony will take place at the county commissioners meeting room on the Fifth Floor of the County Administration Building, 160 High Street N.W., on Courthouse Square.

Dr. James, who has a practice in Howland, was named deputy Trumbull County coroner by Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk.

The document, which was provided by county commissioners, appears to be from Jan. 4.

Dr. Germaniuk died Friday in the Cleveland Clinic after suffering a number of illnesses in recent months.

In his deputy coroner role, Dr. James was appointed to conduct autopsies, sign death certificates and many other duties at the coroner’s office, the document says.
