Canfield student earns recognition for science

Canfield High School’s Aurora Fares recently received a Multi-Year Award for her participation in State Science Day. Her awards include five Superior ratings at the Regional Lake-to-River Science Fair and three Superior ratings and one Excellent rating at the State Science Day. Fares will participate in the Ohio Academy of Science’s 70th annual State Science Day on May 12 at Ohio State University. Science Day is one of the largest science and engineering fairs in the country, and approximately 1,200 students in fifth- through 12th-grade will compete for more than $700,000 in sponsored awards and scholarships.
