Candace Campana, the singer-songwriter from Struthers, has performed innumerable times and has sung the national anthem at hundreds of events.

Perhaps the most exciting thus far will be her upcoming performance at Tuesday’s Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. The team is playing host to the Chicago Cubs with the first pitch at 6:10 p.m.

Although Campana has sung the anthem at many sporting events, the Indians game will easily be the biggest, and she it excited about it.

To get the chance, she was persistent in sending demo tapes to the team.

“I’ve always wanted to share my vocals and my love for singing the anthem with Cleveland sports teams because I love them and want to represent my state,” she said.

But singing the anthem for the Cleveland Indians isn’t all Campana is up to these days.

The Youngstown State University graduate will regularly appear on “Flea Market Fanatics,” a comedy reality show that is being shot by a local filmmaker this summer at Rogers Sale.

A regular at the flea market every Friday, she will play her own original jingle and other songs on the show.

Several months ago, Campana released her single “Pink Ink,” which details the story of a mother and daughter battling breast cancer. She also released “Cowboy Me,” a fun and edgy tune that relays a true story about herself.

Her upcoming shows include singing at the Strimbu BBQ fundraiser. Campania is also in the process of booking shows with country singer Chris Kraft, of Alliance, among other artists.

She said she would like to open for as many artists as possible, everywhere and anywhere, to get her original music out there and keep her career moving forward.

“If anyone is in need of a female vocalist with a heck of a lot of passion, hit me up,” Campana said.

The singer said she is always looking for more projects.

“All I am is music,” she said. “It consumes me, in every aspect of my life. It is what I am here for.”
