League of Women Voters host forum

YOUNGSTOWN

The League of Women Voters of Trumbull County recently hosted a nonpartisan candidate’s forum at Harding High School. Samantha Pavlick, a junior at Howland High School, assisted in the forum by doing research for a paper in her political science class. Her focus was on women in the work force and how they were hired for their present position. Feminism was a question all LWV members were asked to discuss. Pavlick aided members at the question proofing table. LWV member Gwen Logan, Trumbull County Dog Warden, sat with Pavlick for 15 minutes, answered questions for her research assignment and showed her how the timing table at the forum operated. LWV president Peggy Boyd discussed her mentor with Pavlick. The League of Women Voters of Trumbull County is a nonpartisan political organization which encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
