County sells convicted doctor’s Market Street clinic at auction

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County received $35,750 at auction for property seized from a Canfield doctor convicted of trafficking in drugs.

An indictment criticized the practices by which William Paloski, 75, prescribed at his clinic at 3100 Market Street.

Becky Ligouri purchased the former clinic from the county at auction.

County officials said prosecutors will determine how the money will be used but they believe it will go back to the Mahoning County Law Enforcement Task Force that raided Paloski’s home and clinic in 2015.

Paloski received five years’ probation on the charges. Judge R. Scott Krichbuam of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court told him he had to have known better and he contributed to the malaise of the community.

The task force also seized an SUV, firearms and $250,000 from Paloski.
