Art silent auction to benefit group
YOUNGSTOWN
A selection of art from the private collection of Youngstown artist Jim Pernotto will be sold at a silent auction Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St., downtown.
Proceeds will benefit Next Best Art, an arts advocacy group headed by Pernotto. Works by more than 20 other regional artists will also be part of the sale. All of the works can be seen at the gallery from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Doo Wop Project at Packard hall

The Doo Wop Project will come to Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave., next Wednesday for a 7 p.m. concert presented by Warren Civic Music Association.
The show traces the evolution of doo wop music and features stars of Broadway’s smash hits “Jersey Boys” and “Motown: The Musical.”

‘Beauty and Beast’ at Fitch High

Paint and Sip for river friends

Friends of the Mahoning River will have a Paint and Sip evening April 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave. The fee is $25, which includes everything needed to complete a 16-inch by 25-inch painting of a heron, and one drink.
