DeWine files lawsuit against Ohio Restoration Group operator

YOUNGSTOWN — Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine filed a lawsuit against a man who operated a roofing company that allegedly took thousands of dollars but never provided work.

The lawsuit filed today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court accuses Ancil E. Wilson III, who did business in the state as Ohio Restoration Group, of violating consumer protection laws.

“We are taking this action to protect consumers,” DeWine said in a statement. “We believe the defendant violated Ohio’s consumer protection laws and must be held accountable.”

Wilson offered roof replacement and installation work but failed to perform the work after collecting an estimated $55,000 from various consumers, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit asks for reimbursement to Wilson’s customers and an injunction to prevent future violations.
