“The Voice” (8 p.m., NBC): It’s the first night of the playoffs, and for the first time in the show’s history, there will be three- consecutive nights of live performances and real-time voting. “I Am Evidence” (8 p.m., HBO): Mariska Hargitay leads this documentary that focuses on four women whose rape kits went untested for years.

“The Commuter” (PG-13): A commuter on a train gets caught up in a game and then realizes it’s a criminal plot and everyone’s life is in danger. Starring Liam Neeson and Vera Farmiga.

“The Only Living Boy in New York” (R): A young man has an affair with his powerful father’s mistress, changing his life completely. Starring Jeff Bridges and Kate Beckinsale.

Canfield High offers comedy, drama

CANFIELD

The Canfield High School Players will present two spring plays this weekend in the school auditorium: “The Odd Couple” and “The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man in the Moon Marigolds.” The comedy “The Odd Couple” will be staged at 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday. The drama “Marigolds” will be staged at 7 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The plays also differ in that “Odd Couple” has a mostly male cast, while “Marigolds” is mostly female. Tickets are $10 ($6 for students and senior citizens).

Paint and Sip for river friends

YOUNGSTOWN

Friends of the Mahoning River will have a Paint and Sip evening Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave. The fee is $25, which includes everything needed to complete a 16-inch by 25-inch painting of a heron, and one drink.
