Boardman 15, Green 14

STRUTHERS

Dom Stilliana had four hits, scored four runs and drove in four more and Cam Kreps delivered a walk-off, game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh for the Spartans (7-5) at Cene Park. Evan Knaus had three hits and three RBIs and Kreps had two hits and two RBIs. Kreps also picked up the win in relief. He struck out four in two innings.

Austintown Fitch 6, New Castle, Pa. 0

AUSTINTOWN

Nick Bianco pitched a two-hit shutout and Cameron Burton singled twice, doubled, scored twice and drove in two runs in the Falcons’ victory. Nick Belcik singled and drove in two runs for Fitch (7-3) and Kole Klasic and Mike Grazier had doubles. Bianco walked six and struck out eight.

West Branch 1, Poland 0

POLAND

Gino Sabatine pitched a complete game shutout for West Branch (8-1). Sabatine struck out seven and walked just one batter. David Cunningham drove in the only run of the game on a single in the top of the first inning. Braeden O’Shaughnessy had two hits for Poland.

Canfield 23, Ravenna 2

RAVENNA

Alex Hernandez, Anthony Longo, Angelo Petracci and Jack Rafoth each had two hits. Rafoth drove in five runs and Petracci three.

Painesville Riverside 5-16, Hubbard 3-7

HUBBARD

Painesville Riverside (5-5) swept a doubleheader with Hubbard (6-6). Andrew Keller had two hits in game one and a double and two RBIs in game two. Jameson Campbell had a triple and two RBIs in game one to lead Riverside. In game two, Kyle Scwedjka had a home run and three RBIs for Riverside. For Hubbard, Lukas Mosora had a home run in game one and a triple in game two. In game two, Anthony Corrin had two hits and two RBIs and Jimmy Polumbo had two RBIs.

Girard 10, Ashtabula Lakeside 6

GIRARD

Aidan Warga had two hits, two RBIs, two runs scored and two steals for Girard. Tyler O’Dell added three hits, two RBIs and three steals for the Indians. Braylon Freeland also had two hits and was the winning pitcher, striking out five. Grant Kingston had two RBIs for Lakeside.

Liberty 6, Badger 4

KINSMAN

David Sewell had two hits and two RBIs, Zach Coman earned a win in relief and Kevin Hawn got the save. Dwight Parker and Jeremy Spisak each had two hits for Liberty. Chris Patterson and Logan Lendak each had two hits for Badger. Patterson had two RBIs.

Edison 11, South Range 3

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

Tristan Haught, Andrew Kinney and Connor Hyndman each had two hits for Edison (1-4). For the Raiders (4-7), Brandon Youngs doubled.

Springfield 9, McDonald 2

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Winning pitcher Shane Eynon (3-0) scattered five hits. He struck out five and walked one. Pacing the Tigers’ offense was Brandon Walters with two hits and Drew Clark with two RBIs. Brannon Brungard and Chris Thompson doubled for Springfield (7-2, 5-0 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference). For the Blue Devils (2-3, 2-2), Jordan Neil had two hits.

Lowellville 8-7, Mineral Ridge 2-13

STRUTHERS

The Rockets used a six-run fourth inning to beat the Rams in the first game. Matt Hvisdak had two hits for Lowellville and Jason Higgins scattered five hits and struck out seven for the win. Mineral Ridge got the jump on Lowellville early in the second game to earn a split. The Rockets lost despite out-hitting the Rams 11-6. Koby Zupko got the win for Mineral Ridge. He went the distance, allowing 11 hits and six runs while striking out six. Dom Layko and Vinnie Kacir each had three hits for Lowellville. Hvisdak and Nate Solak each had two. Dakota Edwards had two hits for Mineral Ridge.

East Palestine 2, Western Reserve 0

BERLIN CENTER

Justin Hooley tossed a three-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walked three. Connor Elliott had two hits while Dustin Bourne and Cameron Wischerman doubled for the Bulldogs (3-3). For the Blue Devils (5-2), Ryan Demsky doubled.

Leetonia 6-4, Sebring 5-17

SEBRING

Josh Hammond had two hits for the Trojans in the opener. In the second game, Gabe Lanzer and Jake Hunter each had three hits for the Trojans. Lanzer drove in two runs.

Alliance 9-6, Crestview 0-7

ALLIANCE

The Aviators dominated the first game, but the Rebels rallied from a 5-0 deficit to earn a split. Caleb Hill earned the win pitching four scoreless innings of relief. He allowed only one hit. Isaac Ricketts got the save. Tanner Daub had a two-run single and Keith Berger singled twice for Crestview. Hill helped his own cause with a single, a double and an RBI.

Southern 12-13, Heartland Christian 4-2

EAST PALESTINE

Caleb Glover had five hits and drove in three runs as the Indians swept a doubleheader. Sloan had two hits. Tom Kling had two hits for the Lions (0-5) in the opener and a triple and an RBI in the second game. Joey Donofrio doubled in the second game and scored both Heartland Christian runs. Brock Smalley struck out 11 over 52/3 innings for the win in the opener. West worked 32/3 innings and struck out six to win the second game.

Columbiana 8, Beaver Local 4

COLUMBIANA

Chase Franken led Columbiana (4-6) with three hits, including a triple. AJ Perkins had two hits and two RBI and Michael Ginocchi had two hits and an RBI. Evan Kenneally added a two run base hit in the fourth inning. Beaver Local is 5-5 on the season.

Mathews 10, Bristol 3

VIENNA

Jackson Iceman picked up his second win of the season while striking out 11 as the Mustangs (6-1) beat the Panthers (2-4). Andy Miller paced Mathews with three hits, including a two-run double. Iceman, Chris Ritz and Gabe Canter each had two hits. Brandon Smith drove in two runs.

Mathews 19, Jackson-Milton 11

VIENNA

Dan Canter, Brandon Smith, and Chris Ritz had three hits and three RBI each for Mathews (7-1). Gabe Canter added a pair of hits and drove in two runs and Miller drove in two for the Mustangs. James Hermi had three hits and two RBIs for Jackson-Milton (4-5).

Mogadore 14, Mathews 4

MOGADORE

Tave Constantine had three hits and two RBI for Mogadore (2-3). Constantine was also the winning pitcher, striking out four. Camden Ramirez and Kyle Coffman had two RBI each for Mogadore. Mathews (5-1) was led by Iceman with three hits and two RBIs.

SOFTBALL

Cardinal Mooney 2, Mathews 0

VIENNA

Youngstown State recruits Kayla Rutherford of Cardinal Mooney and Addy Jarvis of Mathews each went the distance in a 13-inning marathon before the Cardinals broke a scoreless tie. Brooke Chandler singled and advanced to second on a bunt by Lauren Frommelt. After a single by Carly Francis, CJ Sapp doubled in the lead run and Francis scored later on a wild pitch. Rutherford pitched a two-hitter and struck out 15. Jarvis scattered seven hits and struck out 22. The Cardinals (7-0) committed two errors, and the Mustangs (8-1) played errorless ball.

Cardinal Mooney 10, Newton Falls 0

VIENNA

Conchetta Rinaldi hit a three-run homer, Caitie Perry had two doubles and two RBIs and Rutherford and Gia DiFabio had two hits apiece as the Cardinals (7-0) beat the Tigers (2-3). Maddie Filisky scattered five hits in her shutout. Perry finished with three hits and two RBIs.

Ursuline 6, Geneva 4

YOUNGSTOWN

Maris Barbato’s three hits included a homer and a triple for the Irish. She drove in three runs in the JoAnne Kernan Strikeout Cancer Memorial game at the YSU Softball Complex. Gia Caldrone hit three doubles to drive in two runs. Julia Nutter and Destiny Goodnight each had two hits. For Geneva, R. Scibona hit a three-run homer.

Ursuline 12, Edgewood 2

YOUNGSTOWN

Caldrone’s four hits included a homer and drove in two runs in the five-inning game. Nutter’s two hits included a double and she drove in two runs for the Irish (10-1). Kenneally and Goodnight each had two hits. Emma Ericson and Emily Holland combined to toss a three-hitter. Ericson’s two hits drove in three runs and Holland doubled.

Poland 9, Steubenville 5

POLAND

Lauren Sienkiewicz had two hits and two RBIs for the Bulldogs. Camryn Lattanzio had four hits and Sarah Boccieri two. For Big Red, Sieana Ragusa had three hits, Marissa Field hit two homers and Kameron Dimarzio homered and drove in two runs.

Salem 8-3, Warren Harding 1-1

WARREN

In the opener, Taylor Thorpe pitched the second no-hitter in Salem softball history, striking out 12. Taylor contributed three hits and three RBIs. Bailee Thorn doubled and tripled, scoring two runs. Alyssa Laubacher scored three times and Jessica Slocum had two hits. Elly Exline tripled and Hayden Carner doubled. Slocum had two hits for Salem. Thorn and Thorpe each doubled.

Badger 17, Liberty 12

KINSMAN

Madison Karr drove in four runs with three hits for the Braves. Also with RBIs were Kyler Morgan, Isabelle Emery, Erica Ramsey, Emily Sneizik and Camryn Zec. Winning pitcher Ashlee Lennox had four hits. For the Leopards who scored nine runs in the third inning, Sydney Lara, and Savanna Houk drove in two runs apiece.

Champion 11, Chardon 1

AKRON

Sophie Howell (4-0) tossed a two-hitter for the Golden Flashes. She struck out 11 and walked two. Allison Smith and Abby White each had three hits while Megan Turner and Emma Gumont had two apiece. Turner homered and drove in four runs, White doubled and Turner drove in two runs. For Chardon, Marisa Organiscak homered.

Champion 7, Stow 0

AKRON

Turner drove in four runs with two hits including a homer for the Golden Flashes (9-0). Carli Swipas tripled and Smith, Abbi Grace and Howell each had two hits.

South Range 15, Steubenville 8

POLAND

Abbey Bokros singled twice, doubled and drove in five runs as the Raiders (9-3) beat the Big Red. Bree Kohler, Madison Weaver, Kali Dudich and Marlaina Slabach each had two hits for South Range. Weaver and Dudich each had two RBIs. Weaver got the win. She walked one and struck out one.

Brookfield 10, Jackson-Milton 0

NORTH JACKSON

Brookfield broke open a 2-0 game with four runs in the top of the fifth inning. Gabby Schiska led the way with two RBIs. Chloe Willrich, Bailey Drapola and Becca Litz all had multi-hit games for the Warriors.

Crestview 19, Campbell 2

EAST FAIRFIELD

The Rebels spotted the Red Devils a 1-0 first-inning lead, but it was short-lived as Crestview (5-6) scored four times in the bottom of the inning and went on to win big. Skyler Mattern went 3 for 3 and drove in three runs, Olivia Strank added two doubles and had four RBIs and Baylie Bettura had two hits and three RBIs. Campbell’s D. Gray went 3 for 33 and stole three bases. MacKenzie Daub and Strank combined to scatter six hits.

Hubbard 13-25, Akron Firestone 9-2

AKRON

Hannah Kist had four hits and four RBIs for Hubbard in game one. Sydney Newell added two hits and three RBIs for the Eagles. In game two Emma Wukelich had four hits including two home runs and seven RBIs for Hubbard. Sydney Bowser had four hits overall, including two doubles and a triple, and drove in six runs for the Eagles. Sydney Newell had three RBIs and Jackie Adler and Nya Thornton had two RBI each. East Palestine 7, Western Reserve 1

BERLIN CENTER

Kenzie Johnston had two hits and two RBIs to lead East Palestine. Winning pitcher Jade McBride struck out four for the Bulldogs. Arianna Gregorino had two hits for Western Reserve.

Maplewood 8-4, Lowellville 6-5

LOWELLVILLE

Jaycee Ray drove in three runs with a double for Maplewood in the opener. Kylie Konwalski had two hits and sored twice. Sabreina Torres’ two hits included a double and she brought in three runners. For Lowellville, Olivia Sotlar’s three hits included two doubles and she drove in two runs. Isabella Sotlar drove in three runs, Brittany Cahibi had two hits and Maddie Kelly doubled. In the second game, Kelly’s two hits included a triple and she scored two runs. Isabella Sotlar drove in the three runs and doubled. For Maplewood, Konwalski tripled and Leanne Browns had two hits.

Springfield 15, Geneva 5

BAZETTA

Cassie Bacon led Springfield’s offense with a pair of doubles, a single and three RBIs in the JoAnne Kernan Strikeout Cancer Memorial game. Kaelen Yemma added a triple and drove in three runs. Molly Pontius doubled twice and drove in two runs and Jacqueline Kish and Abby Joseph had an RBI each.

BAZETTA

Kish pitched a complete game and struck out six with no walks for Springfield (6-3). Mya Duskey had three hits, including a double and drove in two runs. Cassie Bacon had two doubles and two RBI and Marlia Applegarth drove in two for the Tigers.

Sienkiewicz has the game-winning hit. She had three hits and two RBIs. Winning pitcher Monica Kurjan tossed a complete game and Brooke Bobbey and Boccieri each had two hits for the Bulldogs. For the Clippers (3-4), Marissa McDonough had two hits and drove in the run.

BAINBRIDGE

The Cardinals rallied from a 6-1 halftime deficit and led 9-8 before falling to the Bombers. Shiane Donnarummo with three goals and Tara Santoro each scored three goals for Canfield (2-4) and Isabella Kelty added two goals. Claire Crescimanno also scored.
