KSU student crowned Miss Mohican Valley

Caitlin Seifert of Niles was selected recently to serve as Miss Mohican Valley after competing in a pageant of ten contestants from around the state at Richland School of Academic Arts.

The competition featured private interviews, lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit, talent and evening gown portions as well as on-stage questions. She will advance to compete in the Miss Ohio Scholarship Pageant that will take place June 16.

Seifert received a $500 cash scholarship, bringing her scholarship take home total from the Miss America Organization to $1,650. For the talent portion of the competition, she twirled baton to “Fame.”

She will spend the year promoting her platform “Unity in the Community: Making Your Community a Better Home.” She also will raise funds for Miss America’s national platform, the Children’s Miracle Network.

Seifert is a freshman at Kent State Universiry studying fashion merchandising with a minor in entrepreneurship. She is a 2017 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.

The Miss Mohican Valley scholarship program is an official preliminary event to the Miss Ohio scholarship program and the Miss America scholarship program.
