Lecture to focus on radio and telegraph

Bruce Manning, a retired emergency management director in McKean County, Pa., and an amateur radio operator, will give a presentation on how the telegraph and radio changed the way people communicate at noon April 19 at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., downtown.
The lecture, part of the Bites and Bits of History series of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, will focus on the telegraph and how it ushered in wireless technology. Guests can bring a lunch or order a $6 lunch special from Overture restaurant; call 330-744-9900 to place an order.
