South Side man faces gun charge after arrest
YOUNGSTOWN — Police arrested a Glenwood Avenue man Monday on a weapons charge after officers pulled him over for a cracked windshield and he told police he had a gun in the glove box.
Samarr Weatherly, 19, was pulled over about 5:35 p.m. on Market Street on the South Side. When police told him they found out he had a suspended driver's license, he told them about the gun.
Officers found a loaded 9mm handgun in the glove box. A records check shows the gun was reported stolen in November from Shenango Township, Pa., reports said.
Weatherly is in the Mahoning County jail.
