McDonald student in custody after weapon found in high school locker
McDONALD
A high school student was taken into custody this morning after a weapon was found in his locker. Authorities would not disclose the type of weapon that was found.
Schools Superintendent Kevin O’Connell said he did not want to release much information, but he did say police were called to the school just before 10 a.m. to “assist in an investigation” and the juvenile was taken into custody.
The weapon was in the student’s locker and was not on the student at the time he was arrested, O’Connell said.
O’Connell would not say what the investigation was about or why it had taken place. He said police asked him not to comment.
The superintendent, however, said the school system did notify parents of the development.
A message has been left with police.
