Youngstown firefighters called out twice to battle West Side house blaze

YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said city fire crews were called twice to the same West Side home late Friday evening and early Saturday morning.

Crews responding about 11:15 p.m. to a fire at a vacant 353 Elbern Ave. home found a heavy fire on the first floor that required an additional alarm, reports said.

About 6:15 a.m., firefighters were called back for a fire on the second floor of the home, which reports said is a total loss. The cause is under investigation.
