YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown Playhouse’s youth theater season will come to a close with a production of “The Little Prince”.
The classic story will be presented on the Main Stage for three performances: Friday, Saturday and April 15. A special weekday performance for school children will take place at 10 a.m. Friday.
In “The Little Prince,” playwrights Rick Cummins and John Scoullar have adapted Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s poetic tale about a pilot stranded in the desert who meets a young prince fallen to Earth from a tiny asteroid.
Jim Canacci is the director. Snezana Jelic serves as assistant director, and Tricia Terlesky is stage manager.
Portraying the title role is Kenny Day, who was last seen as Tiny Tim in the Playhouse’s “A Christmas Carol” in December. John Monroe, who starred as Igor in the Playhouse’s production of “Young Frankenstein” last year, plays the Aviator.
Playing other key roles are Harper Liller (the Rose), Allyson Vernon (the Snake) and Maeve Law (the Fox).
Completing the cast are Lillian Gerst (Desert Flower), Adam Jackson (King), Jordan Jackson (Star), McKenna Lago (Lamplighter), Aiden O’Bryant (Businessman), Drew Peterson (Conceited Man), and Jonathan Winston (Geographer). Sierra Boyle created illustrations for the set design.
