Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society will meet at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road in Boardman. The program will be about growing large pumpkins as seen at local fairs. Dahlias and upcoming society events also will be discussed.
SATURDAY
Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County will host a spring garden symposium, “Gardener’s Delight,” at First United Methodist Church, 135 Decker Drive, New Castle, Pa. Adam Haritan will present “Spring Foraging for Wild Edible Plants;” Brandon Ratvasky will share “New Plants of 2018;” Scott Sjolander will present “A Practical Introduction to Assessing Tree Risk:” and Michael Stern will present a demonstration of “Bonsai.” Cost is $45 and includes a light breakfast, lunch buffet with vegetarian and vegan options, beverages and workshop packet.
