Miss Shields, Mr. Thompson set wedding date

AJ and Cindy Shields of Canfield are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Emily Shields of Canfield, to Austin Thompson, of Cupertino, Calif.

The parents of the future groom are Wayne and Jessica Neil and David and Deborah Thompson, all of Scottsdale, Ariz.

The couple plan to marry May 12 at the Youngstown Country Club in Youngstown where a reception will follow. Invitations will be extended for both events.

The bride-elect is pursuing a nursing degree from Youngstown State University and plans to graduate in May.

Her fiance graduated from the University of Southern California with a master’s degree in opera.
