YSU baseball, softball series moved home

— Inclement weather has forced changes to the Youngstown State baseball and softball teams' weekend series against Horizon League rival Oakland.

Both teams were scheduled to play at Oakland, but heavy rain and snow throughout the state of Michigan forced the series to be moved to the Youngstown area.

The Penguins and Golden Grizzlies baseball teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. today and a single game Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eastwood Field

The venue change for this weekend also flips the location of the second series between the programs. YSU and Oakland are now scheduled to play at Oakland Baseball Field on May 4-6 in Rochester, Mich., instead of at Eastwood Field.

This is the fourth straight weekend that the Penguins have been forced to make changes to a Horizon League series due to weather.

The YSU and Oakland softball teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the YSU Softball Complex. The Penguins and Golden Grizzlies will meet for a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

This is the only scheduled series between the softball programs this season.
