Power of the Arts to auction works by local artists

Power of the Arts, a local arts-advocacy group, will host an Arts Auction on April 22 at Stambaugh Auditorium, featuring a live auction, silent auction and raffles. The event will begin at 4 p.m. in the first and second floor lobbies.

A cash bar will be available as well as food trucks, and a Dana School of Music jazz quartet will perform.

The auction will offer pieces from local artists, including paintings by Gary Taneri, Nancy Morris, James Pernotto, James Shuttic, Jeff Terlecki, Justin Terlecki, Dragana Crnjak, Fred Gasser and Liz Testa. Other works by local artists include a sculptural bird bath by Tony Armeni, a quilt by Mary Lou Alexander, clothing by Heather Wasson, jewelry by Carol Raestadt, tapestry by Shannon Blackshire, and photography by Elise McKeown Skolnick.

Items up for auction include a performance by rock musician JD Eicher; tickets for performances by the Oakland Center for the Arts, Opera Western Reserve and Ballet Western Reserve; and arts experiences, including swing or salsa dance lessons, professional photography sittings and an overnight stay at Julia’s Bed and Breakfast.
