Brightside Project launches book box

SALINEVILLE

The Brightside Project, in conjunction with the Local 186 Carpenter's Union, recently launched its Community Book Box Initiative. The program will launch the pilot book box in partnership with the Columbiana County Head Start program at their Salineville location. The Book Box will be located on the grounds of Head Start, but it is available to the public. The community is encouraged to take a book, read a book and leave a book.

The initiative is aimed towards low-income families but will be available to everyone. Staff and volunteers will oversee the project to ensure that the boxes always have a variety of books available for both children and adults. The goal is to take this project throughout Columbiana County. Anyone interested in getting involved by donating books or hosting a site for a book box can contact 234-564-0148.
