“Happy Days,” directed by Ron Altomare, Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St., Salem, 330-332-9688, 6 to 8 p.m. April 8 and 9. Performance dates are Aug. 17 through 24. Seeking a cast of 10 men and seven women. Those auditioning are asked to bring an accompaniment CD or be prepared to sing a capella.

“Bullets Over Broadway,” directed by Nick Opritza with Lori George choreographing and Matthew White providing musical direction. Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown, 330-788-8739, 5 p.m. April 15 and 16. Callbacks will take place April 17. Performance dates are June 1-3 and 8-10.All roles are open and anyone 15 years old and up is welcome to audition. A complete character breakdown can be viewed on the Playhouse’s Facebook page. Because of the amount of dancing featured in the show, a tap class for beginners has been scheduled at the Playhouse on three successive nights, April 9, 10 and 11.The class will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. nightly, and those interested are only required to attend one of the announced dates. Tap shoes or hard-sole shoes are required for the class (no tennis shoes), and comfortable clothing for movement is recommended. For more information, contact the Playhouse.
