Pa. man faces drug charge after Austintown traffic stop

AUSTINTOWN — Matthew Anderson, 43, of Jackson Center, Pa., is charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop today at about 2:50 a.m., according to a police report.

The Pennsylvania man was pulled over for turning in the wrong lane, and police said he placed a clear container in a backpack in the backseat of his car as an officer approached.

The report said an officer advised he was suspicious of Anderson moving the container as he was walking toward him, and asked him to step out of the car.

Anderson told the officer he concealed the item because he was embarrassed, not for criminal reasons. He opened the backpack, revealing multiple sex toys, the report said.

The officer noticed he was moving the toys around while holding the container, which contained meth.

The officer found a sunglasses case with a meth pipe inside, the report said.

Anderson will appear in the Mahoning County Court at 1 p.m. today.
