GIRARD
Andrew Russell and Drake Batcho drove in one run each for Champion. Russell was 2-for-3 with a run scored and picked up the win after pitching the final three innings. Batcho allowed a hit and struck out nine in five innings of work. Braydon Freeland finished 0-for-2 but drove in both Girard runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings. Nick DeGregory pitched the first seven innings for Girard. He allowed four hits and four walks and struck out nine.

Lakeview scored eight runs on two hits and seven walks. Austin Vogt struck out eight to get the win. Justin Grove and Vogt each had a hit for the Bulldogs.

Chase Franken (1-1) led the way on the mound throwing a complete game one-hit shutout for the Clippers (1-2, 1-1 Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference). Franken struck out 10 while only walking two. Hunter Zentner had two hits for the winning side.

WARREN
Ashley Wire and Ally Nittoli each had three hits for Poland, with Nittoli hitting a double. Cammy Lattanzio knocked home three runs on two hits. Brooke Bobbey and Jackie Grisdale each had two hits. Monica Kurjan earned the win for the Bulldogs who improved to 2-0 on the season. Kaitlyn Japuncha, Michelle Stanton and Kennedy Rose all had two hits for Warren Harding.

The Cardinals jumped out to and early lead in the first inning, scoring Mallory Vaclav for 1-0 lead. But George Washington scored once in the top of the fifth and again in the top of the sixth to take the lead for good. Canfield pitcher KaiLi Gross threw a complete game, striking out nine with two walks and allowed five hits. Mallory Vaclav, Brooke Crissman and Chloe Cruz had three hits for Canfield.

The Falcons led 4-1 in the fourth and broke the game open with a nine-run top of the fifth. Nya Thornton got two the the Eagles’ four hits. Jefferson’s Destiny Mayes went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored. Jackie Adler only pitched one inning for the Eagles. She allowed eight runs on seven hits. Sheridon Wilber pitched a complete game for the Falcons. She allowed one run on four hits and struck out three.

Crestview’s Brittany Coblentz finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Teammate Olivia Strank was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. MacKenzie Daub pitched seven innings for Crestview in the loss. She allowed 11 runs on 16 hits. No stats were provided for Russell.

The Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh for a comeback win. Grace Heath, Destany Blake and Peyton Alazaus had two RBIs each for the Warriors (2-0, 1-0). Kelsey Byers picked up her second win of the season after pitching five innings. She allowed four hits and struck out 11. Byers also went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs. Ellie Smith allowed 11 hits and three walks for Marlington.
