Sept. 23
Misuse of a credit card: Police charged Jill M. Dobozy, 51, of Youngstown-Hubbard Road, Hubbard, with one felony count of misuse of credit cards after a woman reported her father, of Sharon, Pa., was the victim of fraudulent activity to his bank account. Dobozy was accused of using the man’s stolen credit card at a nearby automated teller machine to withdraw $685.
Sept. 24
Arrest: Police answered a call pertaining to a possibly inebriated person near Jacobs Road before charging Daniel L. Benton Jr., 41, of Orchard Avenue, Hubbard, with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
Animal cruelty: Police received complaints that two rabbits were left alone in an outdoor enclosure with no food or water at a home in the 300 block of Prescott Avenue.
Theft: A Hartford woman in the 200 block of Roosevelt Drive reported someone smashed her vehicle’s window and took her purse.
Sept. 25
Arrest: Officers charged a 17-year-old Hubbard boy with theft, disorderly conduct while intoxicated, criminal trespassing and failure to comply with police after someone at a North Main Street tavern reportedly had grabbed a tip jar that contained $24. A short time later, authorities had to use a stun gun to bring the teen under control before he was released to the custody of his father, a report stated.
Theft: A West Liberty Street man reported 30 Suboxone strips, which often are used to manage mild to moderate pain, missing from his apartment.
Sept. 26
Arrests: While responding to a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of North Main Street, authorities charged Glen W. Franklin, 25, of Linden Avenue, Niles, with failure to comply with police, operating a vehicle impaired and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, as well as Roger Miller Jr., 23, of Hubbard-Masury Road, Hubbard, with failure to comply with police. Miller and Franklin led officers on a vehicular pursuit before a bag that contained unlabeled pills was found; also, the vehicle’s owner said his car had been used without permission, a report showed.
Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on West Liberty Street led to the arrest of James J. Depizzo, 47, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia when, police alleged, a suspected crack-cocaine pipe was found. Depizzo, of North St. Clair Avenue, Girard, also was wanted on an Austintown warrant charging theft.
Criminal mischief: A former employee with a state Route 304 fast-food restaurant reportedly threw a bin of taco shells and caused a scene after becoming upset about having been terminated.
