Struthers students broadcasting games

Struthers

Struthers High School is giving students a chance to broadcast football teams.

Struthers works with Akron radio station WKTL-FM 90.7 The Summit. Students in the Digital Media class have learned how to operate the equipment and assume the role of sideline reporters, spotters and production at home games.

“We are thrilled to have our home football games back on our radio station,” Superintendent Pete Pirone said. “It would not have been possible without the collaboration of The Summit and the financial support of the Struthers School Foundation.”

These opportunities were made possible again thanks to a $22,000 grant from the Struthers Foundation, split between the digital media and robotics programs.
