What: Trees and shrubs provide the framework for gardens. Learn identification, choosing the best specimens for Northeast Ohio and proper planting. Essential maintenance practices and pruning will also be covered.

What: Join a naturalist for an autumn hike through the rarely explored Hitchcock Woods as we discover and enjoy the wonders of the new season.

Details: Moderate difficulty, 2 miles.

Barn Owls - Paint and Sip

When: Saturday, 6-8 p.m.

What: Join Tracy Doerr for creating your own barn owl painting, which includes the canvas, paint and brushes, along with soda, coffee, and water.

Costs: $30 per person at time of registration. Proceeds benefit the Wildlife Education Center.
