AUSTINTOWN
A man was arrested early Sunday, accused of assaulting an employee at a local sports bar.
Dominic Drummond, 27, of Birch Trace Drive, is charged with assault after taking the working manager to the ground at Buffalo Wild Wings, 6000 Mahoning Ave., a police report said.
Drummond was asleep with his head down at the bar, and the manager asked him to leave, the report said. Witnesses said he then spat on the employee, made verbal threats toward the manager and attempted to assault him several times, the report said.
Police said Drummond “was highly intoxicated and upset ... he could not fall asleep in the business.”
Police said Drummond provided conflicting statements for the incident, and upon further questioning said: “I know how this works. I plead the fifth.”
He was told by the business to stay away or face criminal trespassing. He was released on a summons, and his court date is set for Oct. 4.
