Local educators host reading with 'Stars'

CANFIELD

The Mahoning Valley Council of International Reading Association is hosting a dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday at A la Carte Catering in Canfield. The dinner meeting’s theme is reading with the “Stars.”

Local “STARS” were invited to share the importance of literacy and the role it has played in their career. This year guest stars include United Way Director Bob Hannon, Paul Wetzl, Senator Joe Schiavoini and local educator, Joyce Brooks. The organization is made up of local teachers and educators who value literacy and reading. Tickets to the event for non-members cost $25.
