Smiths host garden party to celebrate 50th

William and Veronica Smith and their children hosted a garden party Aug. 12 at their home to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with family and friends.

The Smiths have four children, Jackie DiGiovanni of Pasadena, Calif.; Eduardo Villabona of Poland; John Smith of New Middletown; and Jennifer Landrigan of Portland, Maine. The Smiths also have four grandchildren.

Mr. Smith and the former Veronica Luna were married Aug. 10, 1967, at the courthouse in Las Vegas.

Mrs. Smith retired in 2010 as an advertising sales executive with The Vindicator. She is employed part-time in the paint department at Home Depot in Boardman.

Mr. Smith retired in 1991 from LTV Steel as a sergeant in plant protection. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
