Trumbull County bikers murder trial moved back one week

WARREN

The trial of two men set to begin Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on charges they killed two rival motorcycle club members and injured two others has been postponed one week to Oct. 2.

David H. Bailes Jr., 45, and Charles Dellapenna, 47, both of Warren, were set for trial on two counts each of aggravated murder and two counts each of felonious assault.

They are accused of shooting to death two men during a gunfight at Shorty’s Place Tavern on Highland Avenue in Warren Township.

The trial was delayed because two witnesses were not going to be available, including a ballistics expert from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Bailes and Dellapenna are members of the motorcycle club Forever Two Wheelz, and the four other men were part of the Brothers Regime motorcycle club.

The shootings occurred after a disagreement while one of the clubs was preparing for a fundraising ride at the tavern, police said.
