THURSDAY

Palmy Chapter 114, Order of the Eastern Star at the Deerfield Masonic Hall, 2380 S. R. 225, Deerfield, returns from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The menu includes beef-noodle, taco, tomato basil, potato and chili. Cost is $6 and includes tossed salad and dressings, choice of soups, crackers, breads, dessert and beverage. Take out orders are available. It is important to note that state Route 225 is closed coming from the north; access is only from the Deerfield Circle on state Route 225. Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, will host a drive thru beef tips and noodles dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Menu includes beef tips, homestyle noodles, corn, roll with butter and a cookie. Cost is $8 per dinner. Takeout only. Drive up to the back door, place your order and it will be delivered to your car. FRIDAY

Christ, the Good Shepherd Parish, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will host pirogi sales every Friday. There are potato, kraut and prune pirogis for sale at $6 per dozen. Call 330-755-1316 to order from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday with pickup from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday . No orders or walk-ins will be taken Friday.

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SATURDAY

Aut Mori Grotto will host its monthly pancake and sausage breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Grotto Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave. Menu will include all-you-can-eat pancakes only, link sausage, scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage gravy and biscuits, coffee and juice. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under 12 and children under 3 eat free. Proceeds benefit Grotto charities and the building fund. SUNDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have a rotisserie chicken roast from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday. Drive to the back door and the dinner will be delivered to your car. To order, call in advance to 330-757-1553. No orders will be taken Sunday. A whole chicken is $10; A meal is $15 for a whole chicken and sides of cole slaw and baked beans. Consider buying a chicken or a meal for a friend, family member or a shut in. It will be delivered directly. Last day to order is Friday. The dinner helps to raise funds for the Mid Week Kids Klub program.

Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will host a pork and kraut dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $9.50 per person and $5 for children and includes dessert and coffee, tea or pop. The public is welcome, and takeouts will be available.

TUESDAY

First United Methodist Church of Columbiana has canceled its dinner for September but will resume in October. The date will be announced.

TAKING ORDERS

Saxon Culture Group's semiannual sausage sale will offer 3- and 5-pound packages of large links in mild, hot and Saxon-recipe garlic flavors and 5-pound packages of bulk in all flavors. The cost is $3.50 per pound. Orders should be picked up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Boy Scout Troop 9022 will host a fall harvest pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at St. Christine Parish Center, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown. Menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes with various fruit toppings, scrambled eggs, sausage, milk, orange juice and coffee. Cost is $7 per person and children under 6 are free. Takeout is available. Tickets available from any Troop 22 Scout or at the door the day of the event. Proceeds will help fund the Scouts in their various activities throughout the year.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St. New Middletown, is beginning its pirogi sale Oct. 6. The cost is $6 per dozen. Potato, cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi are available. St. Nicholas Holy Name Society of Christ Our Savior Parish, 766 Fifth St. in Struthers, will serve a chicken and rib dinner on Oct. 7 with baked potato, salad and desert included for $14.
