UPDATE | OSHP troopers investigating fatal accident in Canfield

CANFIELD — The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a fatal one-car accident on U.S. Route 62 occurred after the driver suffered some type of medical episode, according to a patrol news release.

The accident, which occurred north of Western Reserve Road, took place about 3:45 p.m. today. Lynn E. Hawley, Jr., 56, of Brookfield was pronounced dead at the scene.

OSHP reported Hawley was northbound on Route 62 when a medical condition caused him to veer off the roadway, hitting a ditch and coming to a stop in a corn field.

The road was closed for a short time. OSHP’s Canfield Post is investigating.
