v Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, 3 p.m.: This free concert, part of the YSO’s Stained Glass Series, includes a piece composed by Randall Fleisher, conductor and music director, inspired by the stained-glass windows of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. The concert, which features vocalist Tania Grubbs, is at St. John’s.

“The Vietnam War” (8 p.m., PBS):” The long-awaited 10-part documentary series by Ken Burns begins tonight with “Deja Vu,” which starts with the end of French colonial rule and the southeast Asian nation split in two. The series runs Sunday through Thursday, this week and next. It features testimony from nearly 80 witnesses, including many Americans who fought in the war.

“Bar Rescue” (10 p.m., Spike TV): Season nine comes to a close with a special episode titled “Disasters of Epic Proportions.”

“The Strain” (10 p.m., FX): The gripping series about vampire-like creatures who have taken over the country comes to a conclusion tonight.

Canfield history walk and dinner

CANFIELD

Canfield History Walk: A Step Back in Time will take place Saturday and Sept. 30. A fundraising event for the Canfield Historical Society, the walk will guide visitors through Canfield’s past, from early pioneer days to the present era.

Actors will portray historical persons and events such as Marion Fowler, Rev. Joseph Badger, Harry S. Manchester, a Civil War veteran, the Minor family (Canfield’s first settlers) and others.

Re-enactments of a bank robbery and the fatal shooting of Canfield Sheriff Cone are planned. The guided walk around The Green will teach young and old about local history.

There will be three tours each day beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the last tour departing at 5:45 p.m., rain or shine.

The event will conclude with dinner at Piccadilly Parlour Victorian Tea Room. Tickets, which include dinner, are $40 per couple or $25 individual and can be purchased by calling 330-533-3458.
