The Mahoning Valley Real Estate Investors Association will have an event with Vena Jones-Cox, who is nationally known as a real-estate expert, on Sept. 29.

The event takes place at the Courtyard by Mariott, 4173 Westford Place.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program begins at 6.

Registration is not required.

MVREIA monthly meetings take place the second Monday of each month, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, in the Lariccia building.

MVREIA meetings are open to the public. Anyone even remotely interested or involved in real estate, whether just getting started or a seasoned investor, can benefit from taking advantage of the networking opportunities this group offers.

‘Good Morning, Niles’

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a “Good Morning, Niles” event from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Sept. 29 at Eastwood Mall, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road.

Updates on the city and school district will be given at the event.

The cost to attend is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.

Benefit run

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Run Big for a Little 10K race taking place Sept. 24 is hosted by Pizza Joe’s and will support Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Lawrence County.

The route will start and end in Scotland Meadows Park and will wrap through Union Township.

The race features a 10K, as well as a 2-mile fun run for all ages. Deadline for registration with the custom race shirt is Tuesday. Registration for the 10K is $22, and the 2-mile is $15. Registration after Tuesday will increase, and shirts will not be included.

7 Days of Stem

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Youngstown’s Regional Science & Technology Festival, 7 Days of Stem, is making its way to New Castle through a partnership with the Young Professionals of Lawrence County. YPLC will have a free trivia night inside The Confluence, 214 E. Washington St. at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Three rounds of trivia questions will focus on Sci-Fi movies, current trends in technology and other topics.

Attendees may participate as an individual or as part of a team. Prizes will be awarded to those ending the event in first, second and third place, plus a special prize for the attendee with the nerdiest T-shirt.
