Dana faculty trio in free recital

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music faculty trio of Brian Kiser, tuba; Stacie Mickens, horn; and Caroline Oltmanns, piano, will present a free recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave. Parking is available at St. John’s, accessible from Walnut Street.

A shorter version of the same program will be performed at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Butler Institute of American Art.

Youth theater offering classes

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theatre will offer classes for six Saturdays, Sept. 30-Nov. 4. The theater is at 600 Playhouse Lane, off Glenwood Avenue.

Children in grades 1-3 may enroll in “Imagination Station!,” a creative drama class, led by instructor Joanna Andrei, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Instructor Patricia Fagan will conduct “It Was a Dark and Stormy Night!,” which teaches acting basics, for students in grades 4 -6, also from 10 to 11 a.m.

“So, You Want to Be an Actor!” is designed for students in grades 7-12, and will be taught by instructor Jeanine Rees from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Classes will have a performance on the last day for families and friends.

The cost is $75 per student, with discounts available for siblings. Some scholarship assistance is available for qualifying students. Enrollment is limited. For registration and information, call the Playhouse at 330-788-8739.
