CANFIELD

A one-time Canfield business owner convicted of child pornography charges was arrested after authorities said he violated his parole.

Officers with the Ohio Adult Parole Authority arrested Trent Rapp, 50, of North Lima, on Tuesday.

A six-month investigation in 2009 by Beaver Township resulted in a raid of Rapp’s home that revealed he possessed child pornography, drugs and counterfeit money. Rapp was convicted on charges of marijuana trafficking, cocaine possession, corrupting another with drugs, possession of criminal tools, illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and two counts of sexually oriented materials.

He was sent to prison for five years in 2012 for violating probation when Rapp made contact with the male teenage victim. He was ordered to register as a Tier 1 offender.

The Vindicator has made a request with the parole authority for the details of Rapp’s parole violation. Mahoning County court’s website lists no set court date for Rapp’s latest violation.
